Rural Communities are nice places with nice people. Why are they declining in population and income?

I have recently attended two rather different conferences. The first was the Microsoft World Partners Conference. The takeaway, “people are working from anyplace, and anyplace can be as “cosmopolitan” as they wish.

The second conference was the Nature Explore | Outdoor Classroom Project Leadership Institute. I was quite impressed by the early childhood development work done by attendees at this Institute.  I attended looking for how to introduce youngsters to the “outdoors”. What I found was far more; and, in line with my view that the best scientists are preschoolers.

My goal for this site and indeed for my work was moved along significantly through these experiences. Now, I’m thinking; what are you thinking?
